Thank you for your support! Best Christmas wishes from our team 🎄

Our dear family members, friends, and colleagues,

The orphanages have survived Covid 19! We are very optimistic about the future and in our mission to improve the quality of life of the disadvantaged and challenged children in the orphanages.

We are happy that with all the donations we received even during the lockdown, we were able to accomplish some projects and come up with a new website!

In addition to our perennial generous donors, we have results from our fundraising posts on Facebook. Another source of donation are some well-known painters who exhibit their pieces at our showroom for free, and donate 10% of sales proceeds to our Foundation.

Also, Cassius Cornelissen, son of Paul Cornelissen Jr. recently organized a sports activity to comply with a school requirement. He was able to raise funds which were in full donated to our Foundation. With such success in the activity, he hopes to organize a similar activity in the future.  Kudos to Cassius’ parents and grandparents for instilling the value of service in their children.

After a few years, Quentin Schouten, our partner therapist from Holland, flew in to conduct trainings and follow-up on previous trainings given to caregivers (Click here for more on Quentin’s report).

We have provided the sensory toys used by Quentin in AMOR and RSCC.

Rowena (Weng)  Apolto, now AMOR’S Head Social Worker was one of the two social workers we sent to Holland in 2015 for extensive and immersive training.  Glad to know that Weng did not only apply the knowledge gained from the Holland trip, she went above and beyond! With Weng’s ingenuity, Amor is now on its way toward sustainability.

With a small fishpond, Amor’s team has transitioned into aquaponics farming to culture fish and grow vegetables to augment daily consumption.

In a vacant space at the far end of the Amor’s facility, is a small piggery and poultry farm with some egg-layers.  Just beside the pig pens is enough damp area where kangkong (water spinach) is grown to feed the pigs.

Other projects completed in 2022 include:

For Amor:  Hydroponics set-up. 100 pcs new mattresses with cover, new filter and cooling system for its drinking fountain, alcohol dispensers, Braille system, stick for a blind client, headguards for epileptic clients, special chair for a client with turned spine;  and uniforms for the personnel.

For RSCC: a transformer, water pump, special chairs for the residents of Orange House, air ticket of staff & and five children who were re-integrated with their respective families in Samar.

For the coming year, we rely on you, our donors, to raise funds for the following projects:

Amor needs a swimming pool for hydrotherapy of residents ( Hydro-therapy raises core body temperature thereby creating better blood flow in the circulatory system, and boosting the immune system),  an additional greenhouse (for the grow-bed of plants in the aquaponics system.), and some minor fence construction.

RSCC needs to improve its water system pipelines and new beds for the Orange House.

Amidst the rising cost of fuel and power, may we not falter in our continued support to the orphans.  Little amounts put together will certainly go a long long way. Again, we reiterate that all donations go to the projects in orphanages, we do not receive salary and no administrative cost is deducted.
Wishing you, your family, and friends all the best this holiday season – a Christmas that is merry & bright and a hopeful, healthy and peaceful 2023!
